The sixth annual Old Jasper Day will be filled with activities from 10am to 5pm down by the Train Depot on Sunday, and featuring the Lion's Club Strawberry Festival at the Gazebo Area. Also be sure to visit the restored log barn, located about a block east of the train depot, on 4th St..
A long time favorite, from the Strassenfest, and now moved to May 20th., is the duck race on the river, held at the plaza.
There will also be a Historic Walking Tour this weekend, as well as a Health Fitness Walk from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M., starting at the Gazebo.
-Strawberry Festival presented by the Jasper Lions Club: enjoy strawberries, sandwiches and other treats all day long in the jShelter Houses by the Plaza. This is a great way to support the Lions Club have some good food (10am to 5pm) and enjoy the day!
-Spirit of Jasper Train Rides: 12 noon, 12:45pm, 1:30pm, & 2:15 pm. Bring the family! Only $3 per person (event is supported by German American)
-Historic Barn: on E. 4th St. at the entrance of the RiverWalk.
-Horse-drawn Wagon Rides: from 12 to 3pm hop on near the Train Depot for a short ride around Old Jasper. There is no charge to ride, but donations would be appreciated!
-Jasper City Mill: come into the mill and watch as corn is ground into cornmeal every 30 minutes. Learn about the history of Jaspre and the mill.
-Patoka 2000 Duck Race: at 1pm join in on this family-fun event with great prizes! Proceeds will benefit the beautification of Jasper efforts in and around the Patoka River area. Sponsor one plastic duck for $5 or 3/$10. Watch the ducks race down the river!
-RiverWalk: Stroll the 2.1 miles along the beautiful Patoka River all day long!
-Afternoon Concert in the Park: 3pm to 4pm The Celebration Singers will delight you this afternnon with the wonderful talent from this area of Southern Indiana. Many fantastic voices and song selections!
