The Jasper City Bakery’s smiley-face sugar cookie was recently named among the Top 10 things to see or do in Indiana by South Bend Tribune writer Christine Cox. Cox met with officials from the Dubois County Visitors Center at a recent tourism conference in Indianapolis last month, where they introduced her to the smiley-face cookie.
“We are always looking for a unique approach to promote the area to potential visitors,” said Kristen Ruhe, executive director of the Dubois County Visitors Center and Tourism Commission. “The Dubois County Visitors Center and the staff at the Jasper City Bakery are delighted that Ms. Cox enjoyed the cookie so much so that she chose to place it in the top ten 10 list.” Four new visitors (that the Visitors Center is aware of) from northern Indiana have already come to the area because of the article in the Tribune, which also features other southern Indiana attractions.
