The Dubois County Visitors Center, in conjunction with Jasper High School and Barr Reeve High School will play host to the 2007 National Club Baseball Association (NCBA) Great Lakes Fall Tournament on October 12-14. Tournament games will be played on Jasper High School’s junior varsity baseball field with three games being played at Barr Reeve High School.
“We are extremely pleased to once again have the opportunity to host the NCBA”, said Kristen Ruhe, executive director of the Dubois County Visitors Center. “This is the fourth NCBA event that Dubois County has hosted in the last two years. The players, coaches, families, and fans have been very pleased thus far with our sports facilities and what the area offers to visitors. We also want to express our gratitude to Jasper and Barr Reeve high schools for their willingness to work with the Visitors Center to bring the tournament to Dubois County.”
This 8-team, 3-day event will bring approximately 190 collegiate club baseball players from throughout Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, and Wisconsin to Dubois County. There will be no admission charge, and the public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Days Inn, Jasper, is the host hotel for this event.
Dubois County will also host two NCBA tournaments in 2008, each bringing approximately 200 people here. Says Ruhe, “Our staff has worked very hard to bring all of these tournaments to Dubois County. We hope to continue this success year after year as we place a great emphasis on the sports-marketing aspect of tourism.”
