Dubois County to Host NCBA Tournaments
May 7th 2010

May 7, 2010 – Jasper & Huntingburg, IN – In conjunction with the Dubois County Visitors Center, Huntingburg, Indiana will again play host to the NCBA (National Club Baseball Association) Division I Great Lakes Regional Tournament May 14-16 at League Stadium. The Visitors Center won the right to host the event, which has taken place in Dubois County the last five years. The tournament was so well conducted in the past that directors and participants chose to come back to Dubois County for this year’s tournament and are in negotiations with the Visitors Center to host the tournament for 2012. Additionally, this weekend marks the beginning of the Division II District Five Playoffs, which is being held in both Jasper and Huntingburg for the very first time this year.

“We are extremely pleased to once again have the opportunity to host the NCBA, especially two of their major events”, said Kristen Ruhe, executive director of the Dubois County Visitors Center. “Our small-town atmosphere, genuine Hoosier hospitality and outstanding sports facilities helped us win the bid to host the tournament. Our staff worked very hard to accomplish this task, and we are looking forward to welcoming the players, families and fans back to Dubois County for the fifth year in a row.”

Both NCBA tournaments are 4-team, 3-day events that will bring approximately 200 collegiate club baseball players and over 200 families and fans from throughout the Midwest to Dubois County.  There will be no admission charge, and the public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Quality Inn, Huntingburg, is the host hotel for this event.
